A proposal on the subject of private standardization

THE SUBJECT OF STANDARDIZATION

THE PROPOSAL - Title of proposal:
Dimensions of special product of outdoor watermeter chamber manhole mover, of composite construction, of size D575/580 or 22.625/22.8125in lid/frame top-opening.
The proposal comes to establish a private standardization publication/deliverable concerning the subject of dimensions of special products of manhole covers - in order to be in concordance and to complete with requirement of the CEN standard EN124 Gully tops and manhole tops for vehicular and pedestrian areas. Design requirements, type testing, marking, quality control, or other basic standard concerning outdoor, street or residential area, manhole covers - as long as the basic standard does not apply for dimensions of special products of manhole covers. (e.g.EN124).


The proposed document (norm) aims to specify the main dimensions for special product of Composite Manhole Cover of D575/580mm or 22.625/22.8125in lid/frame top-opening.


Description of design and dimensional aspects:
> Square frame with round opening;
- overall diameter of lid - 575mm or 22.625in
- top side of frame: 750mm or 29.5in; 800mm or 31.5in; 850mm or 33.5in; - square,
- top opening of frame: dia. 580 mm or 22.8125in; - round,
- inner opening of base of frame:
= - 775x775mm or 30.5x30.5in - to fit a 750x750mm or 30x30in manhole top opening,
= - 825x825mm or 32.5x32.5in - to fit an 800x800mm or 32x32in manhole top opening;
- clearance of frame, - about 525...530mm or 20.625...20.875,
- optional, - thermal insulation for lid and frame.
- easy opening with common tools, - central round key-hole of about 1.5...2 sq.cm or 0.25...0.3sq.in.

The product which the subject of standardization consists in, may be useful as outdoor watermeter or water supply chambers.

Type of standard, (as we consider the proposal, - as EN45020:2006 description);
> pre-standard (3.3), product standard (5.4), technical specification (3.4), unilaterally aligned standard (6.8), - all of these aligned (related), as case may be, to the EN124 CEN standard which is a basic standard (5.1).
